How to Share Your Business Presentation and Market Yourself as an Expert

Offering original content for free (or for a very reasonable price) online, is a great way to position yourself as an expert, attract and engage an audience, and market your small business.

While written content is simple and cost-effective, some entrepreneurs are powerful speakers and find that presenting is a more effective marketing tactic.

Here are some simple and impactful ways to present to your target market:

1) Conduct a Seminar or Workshop

If you’re good at public speaking, consider doing a presentation in front of a captive audience. Sharing information in this manner quickly elevates you to “expert” status and is a wonderful way to meet and engage the kind of people you want to do business with. Give your attendees more value by offering them the opportunity to ask you questions and network with one another once your presentation is over. Throw in some nice food and a trendy venue, and suddenly you’ve got yourself a worthwhile event! Consider hiring a photographer or videographer for your event so that you can use the images for promotional purposes later.

2) Conduct a Webinar

Seminars and workshops are fantastic for attracting local attendees, but if you want to stretch your reach, consider staging a webinar. A webinar (derived from the words “web” and “seminar”) is basically an online seminar (also sometimes called an online conference). Depending on the technology you have at your disposal, webinars can be live, interactive, include slideshows and incorporate text chatting for asking questions.

3) Produce a Podcast

A podcast is a digital file (often an audio file, but it can be a video file too) which is offered on the Internet for download. Podcasts are typically presented as part of an ongoing episodic series and require your audience to subscribe to your podcast feed so that they may readily be updated with your latest podcasts as they are made available. The nice thing about producing a podcast series is that it enables you to engage a willing audience repeatedly on an ongoing, long-term basis.

Not everyone is a natural presenter, and some entrepreneurs may prefer to stick to creating original written content. Either way, the key to creating great original content is knowing your brand and knowing your audience.
